Composted

A Festival of Biodegrable Ideas

(Founder, design, art direction & workshop facilitation)

Cambo Gardens in Fife is excited to announce Composted – a festival of biodegradable ideas, a
unique eight-week event happening from 31 May to 27 July 2025.

This event is designed to connect gardeners, scientists, environmentalists, and everyone in the local community in celebration of the life in our compost. The programme centres on a self guided garden trail and compost studio area showcasing approaches to composting large and small. Alongside this we will be running creative and practical workshops, including anthrotype poster-making, compost cake building, no-dig vegetable gardening and more. A summer solstic conference event will feature garden tours, opportunities to see the vitally important livin creatures inside our compost under the microscope and talks from regenerative agriculture specialists Steading & Co. and Michael Kennard of Compost Club.

Composted will highlight how composting and other waste management approaches help to create healthier soil, trap carbon, and support biodiversity, while connecting traditional gardenin methods with new ideas in sustainability practices that anyone can try with the space they have available at home or in their garden.
